This year’s First Citizen Award recipient is Jerry Sievers. Jerry has been an integral part of Calhoun County by serving on many committees, establishing the Calhoun Entertainment Company, and recently teaching the youth of our community music. For many years, Jerry has volunteered as a board member for the Calhoun County Fair, making sure there is entertainment on the grounds. He has volunteered at on the picnic committees at Blessed Trinity and St. Francis of Assisi parishes. On Sundays, Jerry cantors at both of these parishes at their Sunday Masses. Jerry has volunteered as a driver for the Calhoun Volunteer Ambulance. He was a BINGO caller for the Knights of Columbus in Hardin. For the last 35 years, Jerry has been directing the Calhoun Entertainment Company in their amazing productions. This past year Jerry began the CEC youth band when music was not offered to the youth of our community.
